Style: Fruity and Spicy
Corn crust wrapping around sweet peppermint fillings. Spirit overtone with a hint of rubber, transition to a heavy tone of Jamaican coffee, then lightens up with green bananas and pears. Confectionaries aroma at the tail.
Fresh tropical fruits riding on a massive peppermint wave. Overwhelmingly powerful spirit spice, this is a 39 years old right? A mix of glazed fruits, melons, bananas, coconuts and some beautiful pears. Fruitiness gently lands on a drier vanilla plain. More glistening corn syrup softening at the back palate, pouring in some oatmeal and coconut milk. A rather robust spirit but a fairly delicious expression.
Tropical tart dusted with icing sugar. More cereal and grain with vanilla milk at the back, lingering fruits.
No way I could have guessed this is a 39 years old grain whisky. The spirit is incredibly powerful and show zero signs of mellowing, by time, or cask for that matter. Inactive barrel or perhaps from a very high fill-strength? Very lively flavours, big on fruits, sweet and keeps you on the edge. Shiny, fun and engaging.
