Nose:
Quite a fruity vibe initially, marmalade all around with crisp pears and shortbread. But the nose becomes a bit bland after a while with young malted barley and some generic charred toast note, the fruitiness also becomes a tad over ripen.
Palate & Finish:
Juicy pears and buttery malt once again, quite vibrant at first with pitted cherries, can pineapples and orchard fruits. Alas, without much body, the brief delivery on the palate turns a touch bitter and transitions into a short finish that marginalises other characters.
Thoughts:
An easy dram from Macduff, too easy perhaps, arguably one dimensional with the shortcomings becoming quite evident after a while.. not necessarily a dram for the thinking men and women but such are the times we live in..
