[49.0%・6 Years Old・Bottled in 2016・Official Bottling・Single Cask Release of 128 bottles]
Nose:
An immense but singular Port influence, candied ginger, molasses and brown sugar. The cask is giving its all here but still it allows a robust dose of barley to come through.
Palate & Finish:
Gentle syrupy delivery and buttery mouthfeel, one could almost feel that the cask was drenched in Port when it was filled. Blood oranges and some aged lemon preserves. Fine spices and chocolate and peanut butter swirl, the tannins elongates the delivery.
A tender finish on the dry side, softened by the sticky citrus infused sweetness.
Thoughts:
A lovely cask-led whiskey. There are positive signs with this dram and for this young Tasmanian distillery this signifies potentials, keep up the good work.
