Once again, we will be hosting the upcoming sharing session at the Oak Barrel on Friday, 8 September 2017 with the help of Mr. Fitzsimons and the rest of the team. I can think of no better place to share these Australian whiskies I have been meaning to try with all my fellow Australian whisky lovers.
The line up for the night consists of seven bottles, two of them will be announced closer to the event but I can confirm they are both from Tasmania, one from an established distillery and another from a new comer; the last bottle will be unveiled on the night.
Here’re the rest of the line up:
Limeburners Port Cask Barrel M142 43.0%
A delicious non-cask-strength single cask from one of the best distilleries in Australia in my opinion. I believe this showcases a different side of Australian whiskies.
Starward New World Projects Distillery Only Single Cask 48.0%
Starward has grown rapidly over the last few years. Matured in a 200 litre first fill Apera cask, we will be fortunate enough to taste this bottling here in Sydney.
Fleurieu Whisky Kisses 55.0%
A new comer based in South Australia, the Whisky Kisses will be their third and upcoming release.
Black Gate 520s 67.0%
In my opinion, this is the finest expression the Mendooran based distillery has released to date.
Serves are 15ml each.
Please inbox us at whisknick@gmail.com for cost info and to reserve your seat, we hope to see you then!
P.S. As we are tasting quite a few whiskies at the session, many of them at cask strength, please do not drive to the venue, thank you.
Dram well and be thankful.
