Style: Sweet and Sherry
Nose:
Starts with plenty of smoke floating around. An alluring sweet and sour element on the nose… Red fruits, raspberries, sour plums, hawthorns with a touch of sea salt. Slightly floral, blue berries and stew fruits emerge from the spirit as the tone slowly descends. Almond and walnuts undertone. Clean, fresh sweetness nicely held up by the icy peppermint…
Palate:
Smooth, glorious red fruits entrance, sultana syrup and peaches gleaming so nicely. Brown sugar dusted on roasted almonds. Bright, fragrant tropical fruits stewing so gently. Another touch of maritime influence. Sea side bonfire, smoky peat tracing the saccharine body. Peppermint going a bit hot. Finishes with fragrant, rich milk chocolate.
Finish:
Soft almonds, cashews and sweet plum juice keeps flowing. Gentle peat, walnut with glazing on the surface. Lip smacking finish.
Thoughts:
This sweet, Oloroso Sherry Bowmore dazzles in front of my eyes. If you like to a sweet Bowmore, this is your dream dram. One of the most delicious Bowmores I have ever tasted, while the fragrant spirit waltzing in and out of the sherry banquet. I don’t always indulge in sherry bombs, but this is one of the best I have ever tried… A big thanks to Nicholas for this mysterious Bowmore Hand-Fill, will need to track this down…
