Colour: Glossy Medium Pale Amber
Nose: The initial nose is full of crisp Apple blossoms and sweet sultana sherry influences. Really an elegant and refined nose with the usually heavier sherry notes balanced out by the crisp florals. Take a deeper wiff and you’ll get sweet dried fruits and a hint of wood spice akin to virgin oak barrels. Tropical fruit and more sweet floral nectar at the back!
Palate: A well suited medium bodied palate with a definitive influence of the sherry oak. Dark fruit pastries and unsweetened dried orange peels. The finish is again of medium length with more pronounced notes of oak spice and tannins!
A elegant and really well balanced whisky that works as a after lunch dram!! A very different whisky to the 1990’s edition, but that’s for another time! Slainte!
