A.K.A “Luscious and Mellow”
This older Speysider still retains the floral and pear drop notes on the nose despite the age. It’s quite encompassing with just a hint of hidden sticky raisin note behind the signature notes. There’s a dose of wooden incense with the vanilla married to the oak rather harmoniously. The beautiful oak element serves as the backbone providing some depth and weight, well complimented by a faint maltiness on the backend.
The sweet juiciness is intense and free flowing on the palate, rather malty at the first sip. A plater of berries and figs, icing sugar sprinkled on pears served with a side of vanilla cream. Pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg on the backend with a tad of rubbery note.
The blackcurrant note remains in the finish, along with a diluted cafe au pair note. It’s mellow as always.
