Dram Review: The GlenDronach Single Cask #1346 Aged 22 Years

[52.1%・22 Years Old・Distilled in 1991・Original Bottling・Single Cask Release of 701 Bottles]

Nose:

Sticky dates on the nose. Coal smoke and sweet tobacco. It has this subtle hint of gingery note to brighten things up. The satisfying jammy sweetness then stylishly eases into the conversation.

Palate & Finish:

Molasses on the palate. Jammy dark fruits and slightly bitter dark chocolate. A tiny pinch of rock salt on the back end.

Black tea and cocoa powder in the finish. That old timey coal element is again present. A touch of cigar smoke in the aftertaste and indeed, this dram does please just like a luscious Cuban.

Thoughts:

“So thick, now I know why they call it a fatty”..
